"...and the newcomers are settling in pretty well. One of them is even a teacher, so we might be able to begin dividing classes further," Juli said. She turned the page over in her notes. She didn't need them; virtually everything she had to say was committed to memory, but she felt more secure having them anyway. She looked up from the notebook. "I think it'll be a good move. There's been some behavioral issues among some of the students and the extra challenge might settle them."

That wasn't all that Juli had to report to Giorno Giovanna, but she thought she pause for comment while they were still on a high note.

Juli folded her arms in front of her.

"There hasn't been a spaceship crash in quite some time." That much was true. "There was one that was catastrophic on Mars before I was born and a lot of regulations were put into place to ensure that it didn't happen again."

"I see..." It certainly didn't seem like it was from wherever Juli and Criff were from, based on Juli's reaction to the way she described it. No one in the community seemed to recognize it, either--at least those who had gotten a glimpse of it.

If there was anyone on board, she prayed they were alright.

There were no emergency signals yet from the party. So far all seemed be okay.

"You know, I was quite close to insisting on going in Giorno's stead."

"Oh? Wanted to get a look at it yourself?" Despite the tense situation, Juli was trying her best to make light of it.

"Oh, well, yes! But rather...he seems quite exhausted, doesn't he?"

"Yeah, today has been a long day for him." And even longer now.

"You both have that in common. Never a moment of rest." Not that Zelda was much better, but...her tendency to exhaustive overwork had actually gotten somewhat better since she was separated from Hyrule. It was something she didn't want to dwell on for long.

"Well, it hopefully won't be for too much longer." Juli was trying to be optimistic. "Once we get a little more established, things should start to run on their own."

Zelda nodded with a hum, her lips tightening as if she weren't sure if she should say the words that she was about to.

She looked through the scope of the Sheikah Slate and toggled to the map--the dots that represented the reconnaissance team still seemed active. No signs of danger.

"Forgive me for saying so, but perhaps...it seems you have more on your mind than usual." She paused and gestured at the smoke billowing in the distance. "N-not counting this, of course."

"Oh, well." Was it that obvious? "Giorno was talking to me about wanting to start a council. Your name was one of the ones to come up."

"A council?" Zelda looked up from the slate.

"Yeah." Juli fooled with her bangs. "It sounds like he wants me to join too."

“Oh! Well, that’s not at all surprising.”

"I'm... really not the leader type."

Zelda smiled. “People look up to you. I don’t think I’ve heard ever heard one unkind word about you. Not only that…”

"What?" Now Juli was getting self-conscious.

"Well..." Zelda pondered over how to say it. "Perhaps Giorno was asking for himself just as much as everyone else."

"You think so?" Juli hadn't considered that before. "It's just... I'm no good at being a leader. I've always felt more comfortable just being support."

"I understand." She did. Too well. And far be it from her to put more pressure on anyone when she knew what it was like to be on the other end of it.

"If it helps...whatever way you choose to contribute will be more than enough."

"What about you? Would you feel comfortable being part of the council?"

Zelda returned to the map view of her slate and fixed it with a long look. She had covered a lot of ground since she arrived and had documented the villa and the terrain surrounding it 10 miles out. In every way one went, there was so much to discover--she didn't feel that she had even uncovered even most of the local secrets. Secrets that, if she found the answers to them, would help everyone.

She didn't have magic, but she had her mind. She was already putting it to far greater use than she ever had.

"Perhaps comfortable isn't the right word, but...I believe there's far more I have to contribute. I would accept."

Juli took in Zelda's words for a minute, really letting them sink in. Was there something she could contribute? Well... the people back home seemed to think pretty highly of her to put her in a leadership position. And Giorno and Zelda seemed to think highly of her too.

But what if she disappointed them? She'd let down a lot of people on the Ryvius and it really caused a lot of problems.

"Do you really think there's something I can contribute?" Juli hated being so insecure about this... but she felt comfortable around Zelda in a way she didn't with the rest of the Zwei.

Zelda looked back up. When she looked at Juli, she really did see herself.

She wondered what her mother would have said right then.

"In Hyrule, an essential teaching is that power can never be upheld for it's own sake. A leader must have the wisdom to not only have the answers but admit when they don't. A leader isn't someone who lacks fear, but is courageous enough to act in spite of it. A leader who can question themselves is not only a good thing, but necessary."

Zelda nodded, growing more confident as she spoke. She had never been called upon in quite this way before, but she felt strongly about making sure her words reached the other girl.

"And, in my view...you have the most important foundation of leadership--compassion. Beyond your numerous contributions, you're always showing up for others in all the small and quiet ways. Everyone sees it. And...no one person can be expected to lead alone. If you chose this role, you would have my full support. And Giorno's, I'm sure."

Zelda's words did hit true, and it showed in the worry evaporating somewhat from her face. It wasn't completely gone -- Juli would always harbor some doubt -- but it was better than it was before.

"Then... so long as I have your support, I think I'll accept."

Zelda brightened—and right then, her vision snapped to the Sheikah Slate as it chimed at her.

“…Oh!” Zelda squinted. “It seems…there’s another person…?”

"Another person?" Juli refocused her attention to the slate. "Hopefully friendly." Giorno had gone out with enough firepower if he needed it, but Juli REALLY hoped he didn't need it.
